Some decor has been put up in the place by Geoff, however they may not stay in that exact spot but it is giving us an idea of how and where to put things.

We have had designed a wine bottle holder which has been displayed behind the bar like so. Don’t worry – these bottles are just for display; they will hold full ones!

The same has been done to the gents toilets as well and all toilet seats in the restaurant have been replaced by nice solid wooden ones.

We have finished the ladies toilets. The mirror has been replaced by one that is somewhat more appealing than the last one we had and Geoff has put up a glass shelf with decorations to make the place feel a little more personable. The sink has also been finished and a towel ring put up.

We have had signs made up from a family which does engraving and they have done us proud with these

And somewhat less exciting for you, we have gas. The guys are in there this weekend connecting Geoff's kitchen equipment up so as soon as that is done I will post pictures.

Very British. And absolutely brilliant – we love this and feel it just finishes off the bar quite nicely!

After much designing, we have a top bar! This allows for glasses to be stored in cupboards either side and wine glasses to be hung from the middle.
We have decided to put our wine fridge in the gap next to the bar. A cage if you will has been made for it with the left-hand side a wine display unit

And I left the carpenter finishing off the trimming for the main doors!
Trimming has been put in around all of the door frames in the restaurant just to finish off the appearance of the doors

The bar as you can see has been cut twice to allow for the draft beer pumps to comfortably slot in and also to allow for a work space underneath. What you can see behind the pumps is a glass-cooler donated by our (one and only) local brewery, Belikin.

And some masks - A generous donation from Mr Larder to add class to the place! Thank you Jerry!
Curtains, just to make the place feel more comfortable, homely and warm
He has also been putting up soft furnishings such as these decorative candle holders

Geoff has been busy playing about with the layout of the tables. Here, he has arranged the evening table!
We now have swing doors at the entrance of the kitchen. One is an 'in' door and the other an 'out' so staff can't bump into each other when one is carrying food and the other empty dishes.
A double sink has now been installed in the wash-up area in the kitchen. A tiler is in there as we speak putting back the tiles along the sink and also along the top of the metal work surface to prevent water leaking down the back!

Which as you can see Geoff is extremely pleased about! (Honest – he really is)

So on Sunday (24th) we had Hurricane Richard which blew off our outside roof. There are pictures of what was the roof on here – it was the part that covered the outside seating area between the main building and the kitchen. But this is actually a blessing in disguise. We hated that roof and were contemplating changing it anyway so we are now in the process of picking out something nice before we have too much rain to flood the restaurant!

Finally followed by a broiler and two double deep-fat fryers

Then up came our heat lamps, coffee machines and microwaves

And shortly after the arrival of those, we had our Miami shipment in of kitchen equipment. Firstly the guys bought up the cooker, which Geoff promptly started assembling

We now have our equipment! We have a delivery of fridges and freezers from our local ‘B&Q’ store consisting of 6 small fridges, 2 glass-fronted fridges and 2 chest freezers

Well, from our previous post showing the entrance to the old kitchen, we have had the frame re-done as it did not go around the door itself. You can actually see where the frame used to go, but nearer opening we will be touching up areas including that one so hopefully you will see it less. But even now it looks a lot tidier!

So we made the gap into a mini-bar! Extended the theme ‘round so that table drinks can be passed to waitresses easily without disturbing people sat at the bar (if any – we are trying to detract from people sitting drinking one $4 beer in an hour! We are trying to make a living here you know!)
Now the gap that we had in the wall at the end of the bar that you can see here we were not too sure what to do with.
And this is behind the bar. At the moment anyhow, until fridges, beer pumps etc fill the gaps
Now, as if the logo was exciting enough – we have a bar! An inside one, that is! So this would be the view coming out of the toilets/store room area
And that is that sign from the road. That promotion sign you can quite clearly see taking up most of the picture is not always there so that does spoil the illusion of the logo on the wall. Once it has gone I will take more photos!
Which you can just about see here (bad angle, sorry!) But you get the jist of it anyhow.
And that's the same sign closer up.
We also had one put on the front wall of the restaurant along the balcony....
We now have a sign! Ok, a painted logo on the wall but still - looks pretty damn good of I do say so myself! And that camper van does not! It is going soon, we have been told, as it just ruins the appearance of the place. But anyway that is the sign on the side of the building which can be seen from the side road going past the restaurant.

And another view of the outside fans!
They may seem small but they create enough wind to keep you cool!
These are the two we have outside; there are two in the seating area nearest the door, two in the seating are and bar area at the end of the restaurant and one in the booth area.
Fans have been installed throughout the restaurant, inside and out and this is the design we have chosen. As the furniture and skirting board etcetera is wood we figured that wooden-style fans would fit in quite nicely!
To the entrance that was the kitchen and is now the desserts area/glass wash-up/bar stock area, we have had the rather large gap filled in with this frame and some beautiful slatted swing doors are due to be fitted sometime soon (hopefully!). The skirting board has also been finished around the base of this frame and has also gone around the frame to hide the joins. We are thinking that it does look a little odd but are hoping that as soon as the mahogany swing doors are in it will blend well together!
Some high-back bar stools are currently being made for the bar, however as we live in the land of tomorrow meaning next week, I have no idea when they will be ready!

And we must give our thanks to Mr Jerry for his ingenious idea of this outside bar, it really does finish off the outside!
.…how lovely is this?!
It is our outside bar – where the black rail bars were removed this bar has now been installed in its place.
And we also have a cabinet and sink in the room behind where the bar will be.

Speaking of bars……
We have kitchen cabinets going in. This is in the wash-up area of the kitchen and a sink will be put in the hole this week. The remainder of the countertop has been dedicated to drying etcetera.
